The 2026 Super Dawdle proved another outstanding success, bringing together more than 150 participants for a day of fun, fitness and fundraising in support of local Rotary charities.

By the end of the event, walkers had completed an impressive 1,193 laps, unlocking £2,000 for charitable causes supported by River Dart Rotary. Blessed with excellent weather and plenty of community spirit, the event created a memorable day for participants of all ages.

River Dart Rotary would like to thank everyone who took part, whether by walking, volunteering, sponsoring, counting laps, cheering on participants or helping behind the scenes.

The event was made possible through the generous support of local sponsors including Bespoke Coffee, Fashion Alchemy, Dartmouth Flooring, residents Sue and Alec Smith, and Cooper and Thompson Opticians.

Competition prizes added extra excitement throughout the day. Congratulations go to Margot, winner of the Silly Walks Competition, and Zachary, who completed an extraordinary 50 laps to win the Longest Walk Award.

Special thanks are also due to Beth’s by the Park for their accommodation and generosity, Les the Fez for opening proceedings in his unique and entertaining style, and Paul Tann for sponsoring the display equipment for the many lap cards.

River Dart Rotary would also like to recognise the efforts of all Rotarians, partners and volunteers who helped make the event such a success. Particular praise goes to lap-counting superstar Kay, whose enthusiasm for the day saw her stay well beyond her planned finishing time.

Super Dawdle continues to demonstrate the power of communities coming together to have fun while raising money for worthwhile local causes. The event has become a much-loved fixture in the local calendar and organisers are already looking ahead to Super Dawdle 2027, with details to be announced in due course.
