A Year of Progress and a Future of Promise: River Dart Rotary Welcomes New President
On a warm summer evening at the Dartmouth Yacht Club, River Dart Rotary celebrated a significant milestone—the handover of presidential duties from Alan Depledge to Peter Adolphus, marking the beginning of a new Rotary year under the global theme “Unite for Good.”
Alan’s year as President of River Dart Rotary was marked by transformation. Under his leadership, the club embraced a modern, inclusive approach, moving away from outdated formalities and focusing on building a vibrant, skilled, and community-driven membership. His light-hearted farewell speech reflected both pride and optimism, as he handed over the reins with confidence in the club’s future.
Incoming President Peter expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and praised Alan’s impactful leadership. He emphasised the importance of adaptability, collaboration, and aligning the club’s efforts with Rotary’s evolving mission. With a busy and ambitious year ahead, Peter called on members to stay engaged and proactive.
The evening also included the presentation of the presidential jewel, the distribution of club calendars, a thank you to Val who supported Alan throughout the year, and a photo to commemorate the occasion. As the club looks ahead, the focus remains on community service, member involvement, and living up to the Rotary motto—Unite for Good.
